Alaska Fast Boats

Alaska Fast Boats is a (very) small business dedicated to the sport of class sailboat racing.  Geoff Wright and Tim Gould got a wild hair to promote sailing by introducing Anchorage to the fun of class sailboat racing.  We are peddling the Buccaneer 18: a safe, fast, and managable sailboat that is no stranger to the race course.

Fortunately, both Tim and Geoff have day jobs (Tim is a Project Manager with CH2M HILL and Geoff is an owner of PangoMedia), so this venture is really about helping people manage the logistics of getting new and used Buccaneer 18s up to Alaska. After much discussion with many expensive business consultants we’ve come up with the following mission statement:

“Alaska Fast Boats will help grow and promote one-design dingy sailing in Alaska while trying not loosing a ton of money in the process”.

It’s probably worth noting that we donate 1/2 of our minimal proceeds to the Alaska Sailing Club Race Committee.

There are currently 5 Buccaneers in the state, with another 3 on the way, and we are going to have a blast racing these boats on Big Lake this year.  We intend to be around for a while promoting sailbaot racing and invite you to join us.  So check out the Buccaneer 18 and come out to the Alaska Sailing Club for a fun racing season in 2008!
